Application areas of plastic profiles: Plastic profiles are widely used in the production of building materials such as doors, windows, wall panels, ceilings, etc. They have the advantages of light weight, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and good insulation performance. The profiles are made by the PVC profile making machine.
The production process of plastic profiles mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: Select suitable plastic resins, fillers, pigments, and additives based on the physical and chemical requirements of the required plastic profiles, and conduct quality inspections. Add various raw materials into the mixer according to the formula ratio for pre mixing, control the temperature, time, and stirring speed to ensure that the raw materials are fully and evenly mixed
Extrusion molding: The uniformly mixed material is added to a twin screw extruder and melted and plasticized under high temperature and high pressure. The molten material is extruded into the desired cross-sectional shape of the profile through the shaping and traction of the mold. The core of the extruder is double screw, which ensures that plastic particles are heated (180-300 ℃) in the screw and become viscous "dough"
Cooling and shaping: The extruded profile is rapidly cooled through a cooling water tank to shape the profile and reduce its temperature. During the cooling process, it is necessary to control parameters such as water temperature, water pressure, and time to ensure the internal structure and appearance quality of the profile
Traction and cutting: The cooled profile is pulled to a certain length by a traction machine and cut to a fixed length. During the traction and cutting process, it is necessary to ensure speed and dimensional accuracy in order to obtain the required profile length and cross-section
Post processing and packaging: Surface treatment, finishing, and inspection of the cut profiles. Packaging according to product requirements, including inner and outer packaging, to protect the quality and safety of profiles during transportation and storage
The process flow of a PVC profile making machine is closely related to the final product type. Window and door profiles, WPC decking profiles, ceiling panels, wall panels and decorative profiles all use mixing, extrusion, mold calibration, haul-off and cutting, but the mold structure, cooling length, haul-off force and formula control are different.
When selecting a profile extrusion line, confirm the profile drawing, material formula, output target, profile width, surface requirement and whether the product is rigid PVC, PVC wood-plastic composite or foamed PVC. These details decide the mixer, conical twin screw extruder, mold, calibration table and downstream configuration.

If you are planning a PVC profile project, the most useful information is a profile sample or drawing, target output, material formula and available workshop space. With these details, Winsoar can match the extruder model, mold, calibration table, haul-off, cutter and optional surface treatment equipment.
A common PVC profile line includes raw material mixing, conical twin screw extruder, profile mold, vacuum calibration table, haul-off machine, cutter and stacker. Some projects also add embossing, lamination or surface treatment equipment.
PVC profile extrusion focuses on profile shape accuracy, surface finish and calibration stability, while PVC pipe extrusion focuses more on pipe diameter, wall thickness, vacuum sizing, cooling length and optional belling. Both usually use PVC mixing and twin screw extrusion, but the mold and downstream system are different.
One extrusion platform can produce different profiles when the material system, extruder capacity and downstream size are suitable, but each profile normally needs its own mold and calibration tooling. For wide panels, WPC profiles or foam board, the machine configuration may need to be changed.
