The die orifice is precisely machined according to the target filament specification. The molten plastic is extruded through the die orifice, initially forming a filamentous structure. Many production lines are equipped with multi-specification moulds, allowing quick switching to produce filaments of different diameters.

Serves as a pre-shaping and stress-relief device for the filament. The freshly extruded filament is high-temperature and flexible; direct cooling in cold water may cause cracking or deformation due to excessive temperature difference. The hot water tank uses circulating constant-temperature hot water to cool the filament gradually, dissipating partial heat while avoiding internal stress accumulation. It also initially calibrates the filament’s straightness, laying a foundation for subsequent cold-water setting.

Following the hot water tank, its core function is rapid cooling and final setting. Circulating cold water in the tank quickly removes the remaining heat from the pre-cooled filament, fully solidifying it to fix its diameter and shape, preventing deformation during subsequent transportation. Guide rollers are usually installed inside the tank to ensure the filament passes smoothly without tangling or bending.

A key quality control device for ensuring filament precision. After cooling and setting, the laser gauge performs real-time on-line monitoring of the filament's diameter. If the detected deviation exceeds the preset tolerance, it immediately feeds back data to the production line's control system. The system then automatically adjusts the extruder speed or the haul-off speed to dynamically correct deviations, ensuring uniform diameter throughout the entire filament length.

Responsible for pulling the cooled filament forward at a stable speed. Some advanced models allow moderate filament stretching by adjusting the speed, enhancing the filament's mechanical properties.
